Cozy, affordable dinners made with simple ingredients your family already loves.
If you’ve ever stood in front of the refrigerator wondering what to make for dinner, you’re not alone! That’s exactly why I put these weekly meal plans together.
This week’s menu is all about Classic Family Favorites, the meals so many of us grew up eating. They’re simple, comforting, budget-friendly, and made with ingredients you can easily find at Aldi or your local grocery store. Instead of chasing trendy recipes, we’re bringing back the dinners that families actually make again and again.
Even better? Many of the ingredients overlap throughout the week, helping stretch your grocery budget while reducing food waste.
Whether you’re feeding picky eaters, busy kids after practice, or just trying to make dinner a little less stressful, I hope this meal plan helps make your week a little easier.
This Week’s Dinner Plan
Monday

Crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and toasted bread served alongside a creamy ranch pasta salad loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. It’s the perfect light summer dinner.

Tuesday
Homemade Sloppy Joes with Garlic Butter Green Beans
Forget the canned sauce! These homemade sloppy joes are sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor. Served with buttery garlic green beans, they’re an easy weeknight meal everyone will love.

Wednesday
Baked BBQ Chicken with Corn on the Cob & Roasted Potato Wedges
Juicy BBQ chicken baked until caramelized and served with buttery corn and crispy seasoned potato wedges. This dinner tastes like a backyard cookout without ever turning on the grill.

Thursday
Million Dollar Spaghetti
Creamy, cheesy, and loaded with seasoned ground beef, this baked spaghetti casserole is the definition of comfort food. It also makes fantastic leftovers for lunch the next day.

Friday
Walking Taco Bowls
Build-your-own taco bowls with seasoned beef, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar, crunchy tortilla chips, and salsa. Everyone can customize their own bowl, and they’re just as delicious served over lettuce for a lower-carb option.

Saturday
Hot Ham & Swiss Melts with Tomato Soup
Golden buttery sandwiches filled with melty Swiss cheese and savory ham, served with warm tomato soup for dipping. This cozy meal comes together in less than 20 minutes.

Sunday
Breakfast for Dinner
Fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and fresh fruit make the perfect ending to the week. It’s affordable, fun, and always a family favorite.

Grocery Budget Tip
One of my favorite ways to save money is by planning meals that share ingredients.
This week’s meal plan reuses:
- Ground beef in three dinners
- Tomatoes in multiple meals
- Lettuce throughout the week
- Onions and garlic in several recipes
- Cheese across multiple dinners
- Bacon for both BLTs and Breakfast for Dinner
Using ingredients more than once helps reduce food waste and keeps your grocery bill lower without making dinners feel repetitive.
Meal Prep Tips
Spend 20–30 minutes prepping before the week starts and dinner becomes so much easier.
- Wash and chop the lettuce.
- Dice the tomatoes and onions.
- Trim the green beans.
- Shred your own cheese.
- Cook the bacon ahead of time.
- Mix the pasta salad the night before Monday’s dinner.
Why I Love This Week’s Menu
I know it can be tempting to search for brand-new dinner ideas every week, but sometimes the best meals are the classics.
These are the recipes families actually request again and again. They’re comforting, familiar, easy on the grocery budget, and made with simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
Whether you’re cooking for toddlers, teenagers, or adults, I hope these dinners help take a little stress out of your evenings.
Thanks so much for being here and letting me be part of your family’s dinner table each week. ❤️
Happy Cooking!
