Okay, if you have kids, birthdays coming up, or you like buying Christmas gifts ahead of time, you might want to check your Walmart. 👀
I stopped at Walmart and noticed they are doing a HUGE toy clearance right now, and of course I had to walk through and see what they had.
There were clearance tags all over the toy department, and I took pictures while I was there because some of these deals were way too good not to share.
Quick note before you run out the door: Walmart clearance prices and inventory can vary by store. These are the prices I personally found at my store, so definitely check your local Walmart to see what they have!
Walmart Toy Clearance Is Happening Right Now
If you normally walk right past the toy department because we’re still in summer mode… this is your sign to take a detour. 😂
My Walmart had toys marked down throughout the department, and there were some seriously good deals mixed in.
This is one of those sales where I think it’s worth actually walking the aisles instead of assuming there’s nothing good left.
And if you see something you’re interested in, scan it!
Sometimes the current price isn’t obvious just from looking at the shelf.

What Should You Look For?
Don’t go in expecting one specific toy to be on clearance. I think the better strategy is to walk through the department and see what your store has marked down.
Keep an eye out for things like LEGO sets, dolls, playsets, character toys, toddler and preschool toys, games, arts and crafts, outdoor toys and anything with a clearance tag.
And check more than just the dedicated clearance aisle!
At my store, I found markdowns while looking through the regular toy department too.
My Biggest Tip: SCAN IT
Seriously.
Scan. The. Toy. 😂
If you see something you like, check the current price before deciding whether it’s a good deal.
Clearance prices can vary between Walmart locations, and prices can continue dropping as stores work through their inventory.
So even if you’ve seen someone else post a clearance find online, don’t assume your store will have the exact same price.
On the flip side… yours could be even cheaper. 👀
I’m Already Thinking About Christmas
Yes, I realize it’s August.
No, I’m not putting my Christmas tree up yet. 😂
But buying Christmas gifts on clearance throughout the year is one of my favorite ways to avoid that giant hit to the budget in November and December.
If I find something I know my kids will love and it’s heavily discounted, I’m perfectly happy buying it now and hiding it away.
This is also a GREAT time to grab a couple of toys for your gift closet.
Birthday party pops up?
Boom. Present.
No last-minute Walmart run where I somehow go in for a $15 birthday gift and leave $87 poorer.
Don’t Forget About Birthday Gifts
This is probably one of my favorite reasons to shop toy clearance.
If you have kids, you know how quickly the birthday invitations start adding up.
Having a few toys tucked away that you bought for a fraction of the original price can save so much money throughout the year.
A $25–$30 toy that you grabbed on clearance can still make an awesome birthday gift – you just didn’t have to pay $25–$30 for it.
That’s my kind of budgeting.
You Can Check Walmart Toy Clearance Online Too
If you don’t feel like making a special trip just to see what’s there, you can also check Walmart’s toy clearance online.

Just remember that online prices, in-store prices and inventory can be different. Something I found at my Walmart may not be available at yours, and clearance prices can change quickly.
